Gary like all other staff had a life before funerals. He was an outdoor instructor, so travelled a lot coaching people in Mountaineering, caving, paddle sports, rock climbing and expeditions to say just a few. He was 27 when he finally found what he calls “his true calling”. Having spent over a decade working for others, gaining a qualification in Funeral Directing and Management, and learning as much as he could, he decided to take the risk and set up G Burdett Funeral Services. This was a dream of Garys, he believed he could make more of a difference doing things and training people his way, meaning he gave himself the freedom to care for people both living and passed how he believed they should be cared for. He continually develops himself to be the best he can be in his work, most recently gaining a Diploma in Grief and Bereavement Counselling, and gaining his level 2 Reiki Healing. Gary has an unbreakable belief in what he does, loves his work and cares greatly for anyone who needs the help of G Burdett Funeral Services.
Janice has been with G Burdett Funeral Services since the beginning. Like all staff here Janice had a life before funerals, her first being a secondary school PE teacher. Janice puts every effort into being the best she can be at work and has dedicated herself to this second career.
Since being with G Burdett Funeral Services Janice is continually developing, working through qualifications including, Funeral Service Awareness and a Diploma in Grief and Bereavement Counselling. Janice is dedicated to work and helping people when they need it. She is a treasured member of the team and always works to the highest of standards. Janice has built a wide network of contacts within the funeral business so she is able to offer families everything they need or ask for. Her knowledge of all things funerals is second to none which increases the level of care she is capable of offering.
